Templates are nothing more than a guide/pattern established to use in an effort to replicate an item or processes. Since 2003 when the Founder of FUNPRO Foundation acquired his TBI and now, a significant amount of information has been revealed not only about TBI & PTSD but how the human brain even function and processes data (information). This allows most acquiring TBI's nowadays to have a guide or pattern to create a more FUNctional LIFE in spite of said TBI.
Where the F*(@ do I start?
As often as Brain Injuries occur, even those lucky enough to have witnesses and require medical treatment still don't get informed effectively and often are released without an understanding of how their LIFE will be different after sustaining trauma so where does one even begin?Â
Create a Support TEAMÂ
Though it may seem impossible, especially if you're alone, by you reading this proves anything is possible. It's just a matter of how much FOCUS is provided to creating the kind of TEAM that will aide you in your development of a new LIFE after a Traumatic Brain Injury. Since everyone's brain injury and upbringing is different, the needs and adjustment will vary. One of the KEY ASSETS every Brain Injured person needs to have to truly THRIVE is a Partner. Someone that can attend doctors appointments, and provide insight (when needed) to affecting personnel.Â
Get CONNECTED!
While VETERANS have the Veterans Administration to provide mental health and medical assistance to those who qualify, it is still a process to get rated and enrolled. ALL VETERANS (and family members) are HIGHLY encouraged to have someone (aka witness) with them at appointment as to what transpires at scheduled appointments (w/VA). Most County's in every state have TBI Support Groups available which allow new TBI THRIVERS to connect with others who have already or even recently acquired a TBI and have started a path to a new evolution of LIFE.
